Sonja is a member of the Solicitors Regulation Authority Family Law Accreditation Scheme and of Resolutions (Family Law Association).

Sonja has been the firm’s Managing Partner since 2007.

Clare Dawson

Clare specialises in residential conveyancing and related property matters.

Clare qualified as a Solicitor in 1994, completing her training in London. After a short family break Clare moved with her husband and son to Bury St Edmunds and joined the firm in 1997, becoming a Partner in 2002. Clare heads up the Residential Conveyancing Team and is experienced in all aspects of the residential property market.

Clare is a member of the Property Section of the Law Society and the Bury St Edmunds Property Lawyers Group.

Peter Francis Herriott

Peter Francis Herriott

Solicitor

Peter Herriott joined Partridge and Wilson in 2001 as Head of the Private Client Department and became a Partner in the firm in January 2004.

He specialises in inheritance tax planning and wills, the administration of estates and trusts, and generally advising the elderly client including the preparation of Lasting Powers of Attorney.

Peter has over 25 years experience in this field and is a member of both the Law Society’s Probate Section and the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP).

Martin Pratley

Martin Pratley

Solicitor

Martin was admitted as a Solicitor in 1986 immediately after which he became a Partner of a firm based in Colchester. During this time he gained experience in most areas of law eventually specialising in property related matters.

Having, then, worked for one of the larger regional firms, Martin joined the Commercial Department of Partridge and Wilson in August 2008 and deals with commercial property and other business matters.

Outside the law, Martin has a keen interest in rugby union and is a member of the Colchester Rugby Club for which he is the Welfare Officer and for which he plays, coaches and referees.

Jill Merriam

Jill Merriam

Solicitor

Jill specialises in private client matters – including Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney and the Administration of Estates.

She joined Partridge and Wilson in September 2008 after a period of working in Cambridge. She has lived in the Bury St Edmunds area for over 20 years.

Jill has three children and in her spare time she is involved in charity work. She enjoys playing bridge and keeping fit.

Naomi Potter

Legal Executive

Naomi Potter is a family lawyer who joined Partridge and Wilson in September 2008, after working for a firm of Solicitors in Norwich for eight years.

Naomi qualified as a Legal Executive in November 2005 and is due to qualify as a Solicitor in 2009. Naomi has always specialised in all aspects of family work.

Away from the office Naomi’s interests include horse riding, competitive ballroom dancing and skiing.

Felicity Carnegie

Solicitor

Felicity specialises in Family Law. She was one of the first appointed members of the Law Society’s Family Law Panel and was an assessor for the Law Society for those applying for membership of the Panel. She was also one of the first members of the Solicitor’s Family Law Association, now known as Resolution, who have long promoted a conciliatory approach to family matters.

For a number of years, Felicity was an advisor with the Citizen’s Advice Bureau whilst bringing up two children and studying for a law degree and solicitor’s qualifying examinations. She joined Partridge and Wilson in 1985 and became a partner in 1990. She is now a consultant on Family Law.

During her career Felicity was a criminal advocate and Duty Solicitor for both the police station and the Magistrates’ Court. She has experienced in representing those with mental health problems and was a member of the Law Society Mental Health Panel. She now concentrates solely on Family Law.

Felicity also holds judicial posts as Assistant Deputy Coroner for Suffolk and is a part-time Tribunal Judge dealing with matters of Social Security and Child Support.
